At Colossal Academy Jacksonville, we believe that learning should be an engaging, meaningful, and transformative experience. Our innovative curriculum ignites curiosity, fosters critical thinking, and empowers students to become active participants in their own education. By combining traditional core classes with hands-on, project-based learning and real-world experiences, we prepare our students not just for academic success, but for life. From entrepreneurship to internships and adulting skills, our comprehensive approach ensures that every student graduates as a well-rounded, confident, and prepared individual ready to tackle the challenges of the 21st century.
Colossal students graduate with a traditional accredited, private school transcript including the same classes as other middle and high school students.
Depending on students' future goals, that will include dual enrollment, SAT/ACT prep, internships, apprenticeships.
Each Colossal student
learns the entrepreneurial process through doing. They each create and run their own business.
Students also learn the entrepreneurial process through dual enrollment classes with Jacksonville University.
Our students study Marine and Environmental Science
using the Guy Harvey Foundation.
Our teachers participate in ongoing, hands-on professional development through the Guy Harvey Foundation.
We also have the first microschool/homeschool Beaches Go Green club.
Students at Colossal have extensive opportunities for internships, job shadowing, leadership and independence.
Students have opportunities for in school internships - teaching enrichment to younger students, social media marketing, community outreach.
Students also have opportunities for job shadowing, internships and leadership in our community as well, including a partnership with Enlight Energy.

We use the Dave Ramsey High School Personal Finance curriculum as a base, and add real-world activities to help the concepts come to life. This class overlaps with their entrepreneurship, as they learn IN REAL LIFE how to manage money.
Our project-based Career/College prep class was created for us by Julia Thillet, MS, and leads the students through the year through the process of self discovery as well as learning what options are out there and might be a good fit for them

Field trips are an important part of our curriculum. We have a partnership with the University of North Florida's STEP (Science, Technology, Engineering and Play) Lab and have been able to participate in monthly field trips there.
With our Beache Go Green partnership we have participated in quarterly beach clean-ups and have had opportunities to plant sea oats, visit a local composting company and recycling center.
Future field trips include Citizen Science projects at GTM Research Reserve, Marineland, Whitney Lab, and many more.
At Colossal, the community is our campus. Sometimes we go out and often the community comes in.
